Who we are
Drawing to Clay is run by Kitchen Table Makers, a UK sole trader business. Our legal name and address are on our Contact page. We are responsible for your personal data under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). You can contact us at hello@kitchentablemakers.com.
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, country and billing postcode. Your card details go straight to our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you use the course: your login details and which lessons you've watched.
- When you visit our pages: cookies and similar technology. Advertising and analytics cookies are only set if you agree to them (see "Cookies" below).
- When you email us: your message and email address.
Why we use it
- To process your payment and give you access to the course and bonuses (needed to fulfil our contract with you).
- To send emails about your purchase, such as your login, course updates and refund confirmations (contract).
- To send you tips and offers, only if you've agreed or are an existing customer who hasn't opted out. Every email has an unsubscribe link (consent or legitimate interest).
- To measure and improve our adverts, only with your cookie consent (consent).
- To keep tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
We only share what each service needs to do its job:
- Payments: Stripe
- Website hosting and email forwarding: Cloudflare
- Course hosting: [course platform, added before doors open]
- Email inbox: Google (Gmail)
- Advertising: Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only if you accept advertising cookies
Some of these companies store data outside the UK. When they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.
We never sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
- Purchase and payment records: 6 years, as UK tax law requires.
- Your course account: for as long as you have access to the course, unless you ask us to delete it.
- Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
Our pages use cookies that are needed for the site and checkout to work. With your permission, we also use the Meta Pixel to see which adverts lead to visits and purchases. You can accept or decline these in the cookie banner, and change your mind at any time.
Photos you share with us
If you send us photos of your figures, please leave out children's faces and full names. We won't use any photo you send in our marketing without asking you first.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@kitchentablemakers.com and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
The course is for adults. Children can take part with an adult, but we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you by email.
